Organize Your Medical Supplies and Equipment in Simi Valley

Organize Your Medical Supplies and Equipment in Simi ValleyIf you have a lot of medical equipment and supplies, chances are, your bathroom and home are pretty cluttered. Not only is this an inconvenience (you can’t find things when you need to!), it’s also a safety hazard (you don’t want the wrong people getting their hands on it!). There is a solution for storing all your Simi Valley medical supplies. Here are some suggestions for organizing it all.

Considerations

There are many considerations that go into where and how to store your Simi Valley medical equipment. It’s not recommended that you keep medications in the bathroom. That’s because temperatures can fluctuate pretty wildly in there, especially when it gets humid after a shower.
Instead, store them in your kitchen, which has a consistent temperature and gives you convenient access to everything you need.

Just don’t keep them too close to stoves, ovens and other heat sources. That being said, you should store your supplies and medications where you have the space and where it is relatively safe from kids and pets.

Storage Drawers

A great way to organize your medications is using a storage drawer unit. You can purchase them at any department store. The best part is, they’re stackable. Plus, you can easily label the fronts of the drawers for easy access and convenient sorting. Simply pull like a drawer and slide each unit out. Stack one, two, three or more – whatever you like.

Baskets

Organizing your first aid and medical supplies is as easy as picking up some baskets. Your larger supplies and small pieces of equipment (like nebulizers) can go in large laundry baskets, while smaller bottles of pills can go in small stackable baskets.

You can purchase those small plastic baskets from the dollar store, too, to save money. Store the baskets in your linen closet, bathroom closet or on a shelf, for instance.

Shelves and Medicine Cabinets

If you have spare shelves or room in your medicine cabinet, you ‘ll just need to do a little rearranging. Place medications you use frequently on lower shelves so they’re within easy reach. Place supplies on the rest of the shelves according to how often you use them. Rarely-used items should go on the top shelf.

Another way to approach this is to devote a different shelf to a different type of medicine. Pain relievers may go on one shelf, while allergy medication or basic first aid supplies could go on another. Have another shelf devoted just to your prescriptions.

If you’re really limited on space, store prescriptions in weekly organizers to conserve precious shelf space. To store large pieces of medical equipment, invest in large plastic containers with snapping lids. Label and place in a closet.

No matter where you store your Simi Valley medical supplies, it’s important to keep them locked up or out of the way of children.
